Hereditary, a Netflix movie will release on HBO Max next year.
In Ari Aster’s first feature-length directing effort, he wrote and directed a psychological horror picture. Toni Collette, Alex Wolff, Milly Shapiro, and Gabriel Byrne play members of a family who are haunted by an enigmatic presence following the death of their reclusive grandmother in the film.
The cast in the movie includes Toni Collette, Alex Wolff, Milly Shapiro, Gabriel Byrne, Ann Dowd, Mallory Bechtel, Jason Miyagi, and David Stanley.
The movie was released back in 2018 and film garnered a lot of positive reviews, with particular attention paid to Collette’s performance and Aster’s directing. On a $10 million budget, it brought in nearly $82 million, making it A24’s highest-grossing movie at the time.
Hereditary has a 90% approval rating of 383 reviews on rotten tomatoes, with an average score of 8.3/10. The consensus among reviewers on the website is as follows: “Hereditary uses its classic setup as the framework for a harrowing, uncommonly unsettling horror film whose cold touch lingers long beyond the closing credits.”
The movie will premiere on HBO Max on January 1, 2023.
