In a not-so-surprising yet delightful turn of events, Elon Musk, the X Chairman and founder of SpaceX, made a surprise appearance at Prime Video’s SXSW Fallout experience.
Musk, a longtime friend of Fallout’s executive producer and director Jonathan Nolan, casually strolled into the apocalyptic western set in Austin, TX, where the event was taking place.
Nolan and Musk have a history of engaging conversations, dating back to SXSW 2018, where they discussed topics ranging from SpaceX’s Mars exploration timeline to Musk’s vision for an underground high-speed transportation system in Los Angeles.
The highlight of their interaction was a memorable rendition of My Little Butter Cup from the 1980s comedy The Three Amigos.
During the Fallout experience, Musk interacted with bystanders, explored carnival stands, and added an element of surprise to the overall event. The crowd had just witnessed the latest trailers and a 15-minute sneak peek of the series, set to premiere on April 12.
Known for its extravagant presentations, Amazon once again impressed at SXSW. The Fallout series, based on the popular video game franchise, promises a gripping story set in a post-apocalyptic Los Angeles, with a stellar cast led by Ella Purnell, Aaron Moten, Walton Goggins, and Kyle MacLachlan.
Fallout, produced by Kilter Films with Nolan and Lisa Joy as executive producers, is an original story adding to the game’s canon. The franchise has a remarkable track record with record sales and numerous Game of the Year awards.
The series, a collaborative effort of Amazon MGM Studios, Kilter Films, and Bethesda Game Studios, is set to captivate audiences with its unique narrative in the Fallout universe. As Musk brought his signature flair to the Fallout experience, fans are left eagerly anticipating the series’ debut.
