Saturday Night Live sensation Ego Nwodim steps into the limelight alongside Adam Pally and NBA legend Stephen Curry in the uproarious Peacock comedy series, ‘Mr. Throwback‘.
Nwodim’s addition as the female lead won’t detract from her commitments to SNL, affirming her versatility within the NBC family.
‘Mr. Throwback‘, a mockumentary masterminded by ‘Happy Endings‘ creator David Caspe and the dynamic writing duo Matthew and Daniel Libman, follows the misadventures of Danny (played by Pally), a memorabilia dealer on a quest for redemption by reconnecting with his childhood basketball buddy, Steph Curry.
In the series, Nwodim portrays Kimberly, Curry’s childhood companion, business partner, and ultimate gatekeeper. While she welcomes Danny back into their fold, she remains vigilant against his potential exploitation of Curry’s fame and fortune.
Helmed by David Wain, known for ‘Wet Hot American Summer‘, the series boasts a stellar lineup of executive producers, including Caspe, the Libmans, Pally, Curry, and Erick Peyton of Unanimous Media.
Joining Peacock’s esteemed mockumentary roster alongside classics like ‘The Office‘ and ‘Parks and Recreation‘, ‘Mr. Throwback‘ promises a fresh dose of comedic brilliance.
Nwodim’s stellar career extends beyond SNL, with notable appearances in ‘Shrill‘, ‘Brockmire‘, and Apple TV+’s ‘Roar‘. Her talent shines in both mainstream and indie projects, showcasing her versatility as a performer.
As she embarks on this exciting new venture, Nwodim continues to cement her status as a comedic powerhouse both on and off the SNL stage.
