Disney leads the Golden Globes race with most wins

Disney is currently leading the Golden Globes 2023 race with nine victories, followed by Warner Bros. Discovery and Universal.

The Hollywood Reporter claims that Disney took first place at the awards show with nine victories across the board, including four in the film category.

Three awards went to The Banshees of Inisherin, including the best picture prize for a musical or comedy. Disney garnered 17 nominations in the Globes. With eight nominations in nearly every top category, the Colin Farrell-starring film led all other movies. Disney also won the majority of the TV Golden Globes, a total of five. Abbott Elementary, an ABC comedy, received three victories.

Additionally, Warner Bros. Discovery received eight Globe awards. Austin Butler’s portrayal of Elvis earned him the best actor in a drama award, which was obtained by the studio.

While the premium cable network also won prizes for the drama series House of the Dragon, the limited or anthology series The White Lotus, best supporting actress Jennifer Coolidge, and Euphoria’s star Zendaya (lead actress). In addition, Pinocchio by Guillermo del Toro gave Netflix the distinction of becoming the first streaming service to win the award for best animated film. In addition, Julia Garner from Ozark and Evan Peters from Dahmer also won acting awards.
