ABC News has announced the appointment of Brooke Brower as the new executive producer of “This Week with George Stephanopoulos.”
The network’s president, Kim Godwin, made the announcement in a memo, also revealing that Kendall Heath has been promoted to executive producer of politics. Brower will report directly to Godwin, while Heath will collaborate with various programs and platforms on political storytelling.
Brooke Brower brings over 20 years of experience in journalism and newsroom leadership to his new role. He most recently served as the managing editor for CNN Politics, where he worked closely with correspondents and showrunners covering Washington, campaigns, and elections. Prior to CNN, Brower spent more than a decade at MSNBC, where he served as the executive producer of “The Daily Rundown” and launched “MTP Daily” as an extension of NBC News’ “Meet the Press.” Interestingly, Brower began his career in politics with ABC News’ political unit.
Kendall Heath, an Emmy Award-winning producer with nearly 20 years at ABC News, has been promoted to executive producer of politics. She has been serving as interim executive producer of “This Week” since December 2022. ABC News president Kim Godwin expressed appreciation for Heath’s leadership during a challenging period and emphasized the importance of straightforward political journalism for the upcoming 2024 election season.
With these appointments, ABC News is confident in the leadership and expertise of Brooke Brower and Kendall Heath as they guide “This Week with George Stephanopoulos” and deliver compelling political coverage to viewers.
