BBC Player and BBC Kids Now Available In India

Prime Video and BBC Studios have jointly launched BBC Player and BBC Kids on Prime Video Channels in India, offering Indian viewers a curated selection of popular British content.

The subscription-based service includes a diverse lineup of dramas, comedies, documentaries, factual shows, entertainment, lifestyle programming, and children’s shows. Viewers can opt for an annual add-on subscription to BBC Player, priced at INR 599 ($7.30), which provides full access to BBC Kids. Alternatively, they can subscribe to BBC Kids only for INR 199 ($2.42) per year.

BBC Player’s launch titles feature well-loved shows such as “Sherlock,” “Top Gear,” “The Great British Bake Off,” “Happy Valley,” and “Strictly Come Dancing.” On the other hand, BBC Kids in India will include children’s favorites like “Hey Duggee,” “Go Jetters,” and “Junior Bake Off.”

Stanley Fernandes, VP distribution at BBC Studios, South Asia, expressed excitement about offering Indian audiences a curated lineup of multi-genre British entertainment. Vivek Srivastava, head of Prime Video Channels, India, praised BBC Studios’ renowned and widely enjoyed programming, noting that Indian Prime members can now access their favorite British content in one place.

With the addition of BBC services, Prime Video Channels in India now boast a total of 20 channels, including Lionsgate Play, Discovery+, Eros Now, and Curiosity Stream, among others.

Meanwhile, Lionsgate Play has introduced its revamped brand identity across Asian markets, including India, Indonesia, Philippines, and Malaysia. The streaming service is enhancing user experience with an advanced interface, faster app loading, and overall increased stability. Rohit Jain, president of Lionsgate Play Asia, emphasized the brand’s focus on presenting complex and diverse characters, offering premium content that is consistent, original, and bold. The revamped identity aims to appeal to viewers and embody the essence of Lionsgate Play’s mission.
