BAFTA TV Awards: ‘This is Going to Hurt,’ ‘The Responder’ Lead Nominations

The BBC’s television series ‘This is Going to Hurt‘ and ‘The Responder’ earned six nominations each at the upcoming BAFTA Television Awards and the BAFTA Television Craft Awards 2023.

Meanwhile, Apple TV+’sBad Sisters‘ and ‘Slow Horses, Netflix’sThe Crown,‘ and the BBC’s ‘The English’ were nominated five times each, and ‘Am I Being Unreasonable?‘ and ‘Somewhere Boy’ from the BBC, ‘Big Boys‘ from Channel 4, and Netflix’s ‘Top Boy’ received four nominations each.

P&O Cruises will be the headline sponsor of the BAFTA Television Awards ceremony, which is going to be hosted by comedians Rob Beckett and Romesh Ranganathan.

Jane Millichip, the CEO of BAFTA, has praised all the nominees and congratulated them on a record-breaking number of entries in television and craft, resulting in 128 nominations.

This, she says, showcases the fantastic strength and depth of programming and talent in 2022. Sara Putt, the deputy chair of BAFTA and chair of its television committee, believes that the awards encourage the public to discuss great TV.

She adds that the BAFTA Elevate and BAFTA Breakthrough talent schemes have supported many first-time nominees across categories.
