AMC Networks’ Strategic Emmy Submissions for ‘The Walking Dead’ Universe

AMC Networks is gearing up for the Emmy Awards, strategically submitting entries from its “The Walking Dead” universe, including “Daryl Dixon,” “Dead City,” and “The Ones Who Live,” for various categories.

“The Ones Who Live,” a spinoff following the aftermath of the original series, will be entered as an outstanding limited or anthology series, with lead actors Andrew Lincoln and Danai Gurira vying for recognition. Gurira, who also contributed as a writer, aims for recognition in the writing category.

Daryl Dixon,” starring Norman Reedus, is submitted for drama series consideration, with Reedus seeking a lead drama actor nod. “Dead City,” featuring Lauren Cohan and Jeffrey Dean Morgan, will compete in the lead actor categories.

Despite the immense popularity of “The Walking Dead,” its past Emmy success has been limited. However, AMC remains hopeful, particularly with these spinoffs.

Beyond “The Walking Dead,” AMC has submitted various other projects for Emmy consideration, showcasing the network’s diverse content portfolio.

Emmy submissions close on May 9, with nominations announced later. AMC’s strategic submissions reflect its commitment to quality programming and its efforts to secure recognition in the competitive television landscape.
