In an exciting development, Netflix has secured the rights to adapt Taylor Jenkins Reid’s bestselling novel Forever, Interrupted into a limited series. The project will star Laura Dern and Margaret Qualley, both of whom will also serve as executive producers. This compelling drama, produced by A24 and spearheaded by Jessica Rhoades, will be adapted by Julia Bicknell, who will also take on the role of showrunner.
Forever, Interrupted follows the story of Elsie (Qualley), whose whirlwind romance with Ben ends tragically when he dies unexpectedly. Elsie then confronts her new reality and forms an unlikely bond with her mother-in-law Susan (Dern), whom she had never met. The narrative unfolds through dual timelines, capturing both the intense romance and the evolving relationship between Elsie and Susan.

The series promises to delve deep into themes of love, loss, and healing, aligning well with Netflix’s successful repertoire of emotionally charged dramas like From Scratch and One Day.
This project marks a return to Netflix for Qualley, known for her acclaimed performance in Maid, and for Dern, who previously voiced a character in F Is for Family. Their involvement, along with the prestige of A24, sets high expectations for the series. As production gears up, fans eagerly await this emotionally resonant addition to Netflix’s lineup.
