The Walking Dead Spin-Offs To Resume Filming

Despite the ongoing strikes in Hollywood, AMC’s The Walking Dead spin-offs and the upcoming Interview With the Vampire season have received the green light to resume production.

This decision comes after an agreement was reached with the actors’ union.

Among all the television productions affected by the strikes, these three AMC series are the most prominent to secure what is referred to as an “interim agreement” with the Screen Actors Guild-American Federation of Television and Radio Artists.

The approval for resuming production was granted on Wednesday because AMC, the cable channel, and Stalwart Films, the production company, are not part of the Alliance of Motion Picture and Television Producers, which is the coalition of studios currently facing strikes from the actors. However, they are recognized as “authorized companies” that adhere to the contracts established by the AMPTP.

Production for the second seasons of The Walking Dead: Daryl Dixon and Interview With the Vampire is set to recommence following this agreement. Additionally, actors can engage in post-production activities for the first season of The Walking Dead: The Ones Who Live.

However, it’s worth noting that there won’t be any new scriptwriting for these series. This decision stems from a significant contrast in strategy between the actors’ union and the Writers Guild of America, as the latter has chosen not to provide similar agreements.
