In 2021, Marvel took us on a mind-bending journey through the multiverse with the hit Disney series Loki.
Loki is the first Marvel Disney show to receive a second season, highlighting the success of Marvel’s foray into television. In an interview with EW, co-executive producer Kevin Wright explains that they wanted to continue exploring episodic television’s storytelling possibilities.
While Season 1 had its fair share of action, Season 2 will focus on character-driven moments and the dynamic friendship between Loki and Mobius. One of the new challenges our heroes will face in Season 2 is Victor Timely, played by Jonathan Majors. Timely is a variant of Kang the Conqueror, a formidable villain who can hop between dimensions.
Wright expresses, “Victor Timely is somebody that we are very, very excited about. When you look at Kang, he has a very funny comic backstory. He has all these iterations. Timely was one that we’ve always wanted to do in Loki. And I think we’re really excited about how that integrates into the season. It’s a big part of the show.”
From time-travelling to different eras like the 1893 Chicago World’s Fair and the 1980s McDonald’s, Loki promises to take us on another wild and unpredictable ride.
“We made a weird show [in season 1], and people responded to how weird it was,” Wright shared. “So, we wanted to push it further.”
Loki Season 2 premieres on October 6 on Disney.
