Jamie Foxx and Tommy Lee Jones, two esteemed Oscar winners, join forces in Amazon Prime’s upcoming heartfelt drama, The Burial.
The trailer showcases their brilliant performances and offers a glimpse into the film’s engaging storyline. In this lighthearted yet powerful movie, funeral homeowner Jeremiah O’Keefe (Jones) finds himself in a predicament when a handshake agreement turns sour. To save his family business, he seeks the help of the charismatic and smooth-talking attorney Willie E. Gary (Foxx).
As this unlikely duo embarks on their journey, the film explores their bond and sheds light on corporate corruption and racial injustice, making for an inspiring and triumphant narrative. The Burial draws inspiration from a true story, originally chronicled in a New Yorker article by Jonathan Harr.
Bringing this story to life, the screenplay was written by Doug Wright and Maggie Betts, with Betts also taking on the director’s role. The trailer’s release comes after Foxx faced a mysterious health scare in April at 55.
Fans can look forward to experiencing The Burial in select theatres starting October 6, and it will be available for global streaming on Prime Video from October 13.
