FX’s What We Do In The Shadows released its much-awaited season 5 finale on Thursday, August 31. The season solved one of the show’s biggest mysteries, but now, it’s time to find out what Season 6 (already ordered) holds.
During an interview with TV Insider, Yana Gorskaya, the co-executive producer, conveyed her enthusiasm for working on Season 6 of the FX series despite the delays caused by the strike. She mentioned that the team was in the “early stages” of getting ready for the upcoming season.
“They were able to do a fair number of scripts, but until this is over,” she shared regarding the strikes, “there’s not much we can do, and nor would we want to without them,” Gorskaya added in speaking of the writers and actors.
Speaking of what to expect in season 6, she said, “Paul Simms and the writers are so good at taking it where you maybe don’t expect it to go. And I think with these will-they-or-won’t-they type relationships, oftentimes you don’t actually want the thing you think you want and it may be more interesting to take it in other directions, but I’m not going to spoil any of that because that’s where we’re going.”
What We Do In The Shadows is about three vampires in New York City named Nandor, Colin Robinson, and Nadja, who struggle to juggle the demands and obligations of regular human existence while sharing an apartment together.
