Invasion Season 2 Shows Life After Aliens Attack

Based on the trailer for the second season of Apple TV+’s Invasion, it appears that the challenges for Earth’s inhabitants will intensify before any signs of improvement emerge. The series adopts a unique perspective on an alien incursion, following various individuals worldwide.

The events of Invasion Season 2 unfold a few months after the culmination of the inaugural season. The antagonistic extraterrestrial entities escalate their assaults on humanity, displaying their intent for an all-out conflict. However, a resilient group of humans remains resolute in their resistance.

This new Invasion chapter continues to portray the global situation through the eyes of diverse characters. Among the fresh faces is Aneesha, portrayed by Golshifteh Farahani, a mother of two striving to safeguard her family. Mitsuki (Shioli Kutsuna), a communications expert aiding Japan’s battle against the alien intruders, also enters the fray.

Additional characters introduced in the second season include Trevante (Shamier Anderson), a Navy SEAL and veteran of the Afghan War, and schoolchildren Jamila (India Brown) and Monty (Paddy Holland). The latter two are compelled to continue after their friend Caspar (Billy Barratt) experiences a seizure due to the invasion, rendering him brain-dead.

Showrunner Simon Kinberg takes pride in his collaboration with experts from NASA and the SETI Institute for the development of Invasion. He shared with The Hollywood Reporter: “I think a part of science fiction, especially when it comes to aliens, that sometimes people don’t get right in storytelling, is what is in place right now in our militaries and our governments in case of an alien visitation.”

Invasion Season 2 debuted on August 23, available exclusively for streaming on Apple TV+. It comprises 10 episodes, with a weekly release schedule every Wednesday continuing until October 25th.
