Actress-stuntwoman Diana Lee Inosanto, who plays one of the last remaining Nightsisters of Dathomir in the Disney+ miniseries Ahsoka, has a significant tie to the legendary martial artist Bruce Lee.
In an interview with World of Martial Arts Television, Lee Inosanto disclosed, “I was named after him as a little girl, so I wound up calling him Uncle Bruce.” She explained that Bruce Lee held an honorary uncle role within their family due to his extensive collaboration with her father over many years.

Lee Inosanto is the daughter of martial arts instructor Dan Inosanto. She possesses expertise in various martial arts disciplines, including Bruce Lee’s Jeet Kune Do. Her father’s influence motivated her pursuit of martial arts, as he frequently introduced her to literature and illustrations depicting Filipino warriors and women fighters from the Philippines.
The actress debuted as Morgan Elsbeth in The Mandalorian before taking on the role alongside Rosario Dawson in the leading cast of Ahsoka.
The recently launched Star Wars series premiered on Disney+ earlier this month. It centres around Dawson’s character, Ahsoka Tano, as she delves into a growing menace to the galaxy. As a spin-off from Pedro Pascal’s The Mandalorian, this series reintroduces Dawson’s portrayal of Ahsoka and features Lee Inosanto reprising her role as Morgan Elsbeth.
