Star Wars movie to be set after The Rise of Skywalker

According to a recent article by The Hollywood Reporter, Lindelof has apparently been working to set out the new Star Wars movie produced by Damon Lindelof and Oscar-winning director Sharmeen Obaid-Chinoy.

The Rise of Skywalker, a 2019 J.J. Abrams picture, will take place before Lindelof’s unnamed Star Wars film, which will be a stand-alone feature, according to the outlet’s sources. It was also made known that a few members of the sequel trilogy might make an appearance in the upcoming movie.

Additionally, according to the outlet’s sources, Lindelof oversaw a private writers’ room after the Star Wars Celebration this year. Patrick Somerville (Leftovers, Station Eleven), Rayna McClendon (Obi-Wan Kenobi, Willow), Andy Greenwald (Briarpatch), Dave Filoni (Ahsoka), and other actors joined Lindelof for a two-week session in July. In addition, Lindelof will develop the project’s screenplay with Justin Britt-Gibson (The Counterpart).
