Peacock, the streaming platform by NBC, has strategically added the Suits spinoff Pearson to its roster, capitalizing on the unexpected surge in interest it received after Suits became a hit on Netflix this summer.
According to Deadline, Gina Torres-led Pearson originally aired for a single season on cable in 2019 before its cancellation. However, its recent success on Netflix prompted Peacock to make a move. The show is now available on Peacock, giving it a chance to attract new viewers who have shown interest in Suits.
Pearson, focusing on powerhouse lawyer Jessica Pearson’s foray into the world of Chicago politics, stars Torres alongside Bethany Joy Lenz, Morgan Spector, Chantel Riley, Simon Kassianides, Eli Goree, and Isabel Arraiza.

The spinoff emerged from the series, as its Season 7 finale acted as a pilot for Pearson. The show was executive produced by Suits creator Aaron Korsh, showrunner Daniel Arkin, and Torres, along with executive producers Doug Liman, David Bartis, and Gene Klein.
NBCUniversal aims to leverage the streaming momentum gained from Suits success, which held a prominent spot on the Nielsen charts for weeks. This summer, it broke Nielsen streaming records, accumulating 3.1 billion viewing minutes across Netflix and Peacock in a single week.
While Pearson finds new life on Peacock, Korsh revealed that no immediate spinoffs are in the works. The move positions Peacock to build on the synergy between Suits and Pearson, offering fans of the legal drama a chance to explore more of the universe they love.
